With a little painting help from Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Commissioner Tony and Fire Chief Charlie Salazar, construction on Station 11 is nearing completion.Officials donned painter’s coveralls and paint rollers Wednesday to help the H. J. High project team with exterior work on the newly constructed Orlando Fire Station 11 near the recently installed Station 11 signs, to commemorate its progress in the Dover Shores neighborhood.
The new 15,125-sq. ft. station, currently under construction at the corner of Curry Ford Road and Gaston Foster Road, will provide Dover Shores and the surrounding neighborhoods with a modern facility, equipped with the latest in technology and space to accommodate multiple, specialized units and equipment. The replacement station will have four bays and is designed to promote firefighter health and safety and includes:
Escalating emergency tones to reduce fatigue and heart-rate response.
Individual crew bunk rooms and restrooms to accommodate and promote diversity in the workplace.
A decontamination room with a shower and two airlocks with pressurization to further keep potential carcinogens out of living quarters.
Sleeping quarters and active crew quarters that have acoustic separation to allow for rest, recuperation and camaraderie.
Construction is expected to be completed in early 2024.
The next time I read a blog, I hope that it wont disappoint me as much as this particular one. After all, Yes, it was my choice to read, however I truly believed you would have something useful to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of moaning about something you could possibly fix if you were not too busy searching for attention.
