The City of Boca Raton official reopened James A. Rutherford Park last, unveiling new walking paths and a kayak launch that are ADA compliant.
The newly renovated 45-acre park sits along the Intracoastal Waterway at 600 NE 24th Street, providing residents and visitors many new and improved amenities.
The first phase of the city’s Waterfront Master Plan, this $9.6 million dollar restoration and improvement project included:
New Observation Pier
Canoe and Kayak Trail to Intracoastal Waterway
Restoration of Existing Boardwalks
ADA Compliant and Traditional Kayak Launch
Installation of Extended Boardwalk
New Walking Trails
Mangrove Habitat Restoration
Pavilion Restoration
Invasive Species Removal
Shoreline Restoration
Upgrades to Lake Wyman Park. Construction on the next phase is expected to begin in 2025.
