Orlando City Council has authorized the city’s procurement officer to negotiate a contract with a Barton Malow/AECOM Hunt joint venture for the Camping World Stadium renovation project. The stadium is set to undergo a $400 million renovation. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2027.
The joint venture was ranked over Balfour Beatty/Austin, Gilbane and Whiting-Turner by the city’s advisory committee. PCL Construction and Manhattan Construction initially bid as a joint venture, but withdrew before final presentations.
DLR Group is the project’s architect.
The project includes increasing seating capacity from 63,000 to 65,000,connecting the upper seating bowl and creating retractable seating in the south end of the stadium to allow for a wider variety of events to be hosted, including concerts. Also, an indoor “field house” venue built on the campus of Camping World Stadium.
