A construction worker on the job on I-75 in Tampa was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly bit a co-worker and hit him with a piece of steel rebar, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
>Troopers responded to a report of an assault taking place on northbound Interstate 75 inside a construction zone between State Road 64 and U.S 301 at about 9:30 a.m. and found that an argument between two workers led to a physical confrontation.
>According to a police report, a 37-year-old Bradenton woman bit a male co-worker’s cheek and hit him in the head with a steel rebar, causing significant injuries. The victim was treated on scene by EMS and refused to go to a hospital, the Highway Patrol said.
The woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was transported to Manatee County Jail.
