Skanska has secured a $47 million contract with the School District of Osceola County to rebuild Reedy Creek Elementary School in Kissimmee.

The multi-phase project will involve demolishing parts of the current campus, constructing a new 96,000-square-foot academic center, renovating remaining buildings, and redeveloping the site, including relocating the sports fields. Once completed, the school will serve nearly 950 students from Pre-K to 5th grade, creating an enhanced academic and recreational environment.

Construction on the new academic building is slated to begin this month, with completion expected in July 2026. The reconstruction of the existing building will start in June 2025 and finish in July 2026, while phase two will wrap up by September 2026.
“We’re excited to work with the School District of Osceola County to transform Reedy Creek Elementary into a sustainable, efficient campus that supports a positive learning environment for the next generation,” said Daniel Abou-Jaoude, Vice President at Skanska. “This project is a chance to build impactful facilities that will benefit students for years to come.”

The project will be carried out in two phases. Phase one involves constructing the new academic building and renovating existing structures. Phase two will see the demolition of the current academic building and the relocation of the play fields and outdoor areas.

“This rebuild promises to reduce operating costs with its high-performance design and modern amenities that align with current teaching practices,” said Dr. Mark Shanoff, Superintendent of Osceola County Schools.

Skanska is currently overseeing $400 million in projects across Florida, including work in Osceola, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, Marion, and Lee counties.
