Turner Construction has broken ground on a driving range and golf learning center at Dubsdread Golf Course, bringing high-tech upgrades and expanded recreational amenities to one of Orlando’s most historic public golf venues.

The project, led by the City of Orlando in partnership with golf management firm Troon, is scheduled for completion this summer. It is designed to modernize Dubsdread’s facilities while making the game more accessible to youth, beginners, and the broader community.

“For decades, Dubsdread has been a cornerstone of Orlando’s golfing tradition,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “With Turner Construction leading this upgrade, we’re honoring that legacy and investing in the future.”

The project reflects a growing trend of municipalities investing in enhanced recreational facilities to serve diverse populations and create revenue-generating public assets.Turner Construction is delivering the project, which includes:

  • 40 total driving bays, including 36 outfitted with advanced tracking technology and four traditional bays.
  • Private teaching bays featuring full TrackMan systems for custom fitting and high-precision training.
  • Classroom space for youth golf camps and instructional programs.
  • A VIP section with premium seating, entertainment screens, and hospitality upgrades.
  • A new snack bar and full-service guest center, including food and beverage service and golf merchandise.

“This facility isn’t just about improving golf—it’s about creating a multifunctional community hub,” said Rodney Reifsnider, general manager at Dubsdread. “Turner’s expertise ensures we’re delivering a best-in-class experience.”Turner’s involvement continues a strong record of municipal and recreational construction across the country. The firm is managing all aspects of site work, vertical construction, and fit-out for the new driving range and hospitality spaces.

Troon, the world’s largest operator of municipal golf courses, will oversee operations at the new facility. The company also provides consulting on capital improvements, agronomy, customer service, and programming.

“Our partnership with the City of Orlando and Turner Construction reflects our shared goal of making golf more accessible,” said Brian Rhodes, Troon’s regional director of operations. “This project is a model for how cities can reimagine public spaces.”

The Dubsdread project is part of a broader trend in the golf and recreation sectors, where public-private partnerships are delivering modern, tech-enabled amenities aimed at both player development and community engagement.
