Construction is underway on The Point Surf Park, which is set to become Florida’s first surf park and the first in the United States to feature Endless Surf’s ES36 wave technology, developers announced this week.
Located on a 10.5-acre site in Fellsmere, Indian River County, near the famed Sebastian Inlet, the park is scheduled to open in 2026. The Point aims to serve as a year-round destination for Florida’s surf community, especially during the state’s frequent flat spells and inconsistent ocean swell.
“Our vision has always been to create a haven for surfers, by surfers,” said Luiz de Araujo, co-founder of The Point Surf Park. “Partnering with Endless Surf to bring Florida’s surf park dreams to life was a no-brainer.”
The Point is being developed by de Araujo along with Asa Cascavilla and Jack Cook — three surfers with experience in real estate, construction and development. The team says their mission is to build a venue that combines performance surf training, family-friendly amenities and a sense of community.
The centerpiece of the park is Endless Surf’s ES36 system, which uses pneumatic wave generation and advanced software to create customizable waves. The system can deliver overhead-high surf, with rides lasting up to 19 seconds in Single Peak mode and 11 seconds in Split Peak. Its heart-shaped lagoon is designed to accommodate a range of skill levels at once and includes spectator-friendly beach and backwall areas.
“Projects in Florida have been tough to get off the ground,” said Baptiste Caulonque, chief commercial officer at Endless Surf. “We are beyond thrilled to be working alongside The Point to bring ES waves to a region that is hungry for a surf park.”Construction milestones to date include completed site grading and pile installation, with lagoon excavation set to begin in the coming weeks. The developers say the project is fully funded and has received strong support from the local community.
The surf park’s location, between Florida’s Treasure Coast and Space Coast, positions it to serve both seasoned surfers and tourists drawn to the state’s beach culture. Once complete, it will provide wave access year-round and is expected to draw visitors from across the Southeast.
