Verdex Construction has marked the topping out of 9300 Collins Ave., a three-story luxury multifamily development under construction one block west of the Atlantic Ocean in Surfside.

The milestone comes months after developer Kushner held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the 68-unit project on May 14, 2025. Completion is expected in late 2026.

The development is located within walking distance of Bal Harbour Shops and Surfside’s downtown corridor.

The project team includes Verdex Construction as general contractor, Savino Miller as landscape architect, Langan as civil and geotechnical engineer, Franyie Engineers as MEP consultant and Thornton Tomasetti as structural engineer.

Palma is serving as design architect.

The project will preserve and restore the façade of the Bougainvillea Apartment building, which dates to the 1940s, incorporating it into the Collins Avenue frontage as part of the building’s entry sequence.

Amenities will total more than 39,000 square feet. Plans call for a 24,000-square-foot rooftop deck with a swimming pool, yoga lawn and outdoor kitchens, along with 15,000 square feet of interior amenities including a spa with sauna and steam rooms, fitness center, yoga studio, children’s playroom, screening room, game lounge, card room, library with private work pods, executive boardroom and coffee lounge. The building will also feature a 24-hour attended lobby.

At a topping out ceremony, Verdex officials thanked its subcontractors and development partner Kushner as the project moves into its next phase of construction.
