Florida homebuilder Holiday Builders has been acquired by Stanley Martin Homes, bringing the 43-year-old builder into one of the largest homebuilding companies in the United States.
The acquisition became official July 30.
Founded in 1983, Holiday Builders operates in 30 cities across Florida and has regional offices in Cape Coral, Port St. Lucie, Winter Haven, Lecanto and Pensacola, in addition to its corporate headquarters in Melbourne. The company operates in more than 27 communities and 14 scattered-lot markets.
Holiday Builders became the nation’s first employee-owned homebuilder in 1999. Following the acquisition, it will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Stanley Martin Homes.
“We are proud of the foundation Holiday Builders has built across Florida and are excited to join the Stanley Martin Homes organization,” said Bruce Assam, president and CEO of Holiday Builders. “Together, we will create even more opportunities for buyers to find a home that fits their needs.”
Stanley Martin Homes, founded in 1966 and headquartered in Reston, Va., is the 18th-largest homebuilder in the United States. It builds new homes in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
The companies said they share a focus on quality craftsmanship, customer service and supporting charitable organizations in the communities where they operate.
Holiday Builders has received recognition for its work in Brevard County, where it was named Best Homebuilder in Florida Today’s Community Choice Awards in 2024 and 2025.
The acquisition expands Stanley Martin’s presence in Florida and adds Holiday Builders’ established operations and communities across the state to its portfolio.
Holiday Builders is based in Melbourne, on Florida’s east-central coast.
