Construction Partners Inc. has acquired Roads, Inc. of Northwest Florida, an asphalt manufacturing and construction company based in Cantonment, Florida.

The acquisition adds a hot-mix asphalt plant north of Pensacola, along with construction crews and equipment, to Construction Partners’ Florida operations. The Roads, Inc. business will become part of Construction Partners’ C.W. Roberts Contracting Inc. platform.

Roads, Inc. provides asphalt paving, roadway construction and disaster-response debris removal services in Florida, Alabama and other parts of the southeastern U.S.

The company said the acquisition expands C.W. Roberts’ operations in the Florida Panhandle and adds production capacity in the region.

More than 150 Roads, Inc. employees will join C.W. Roberts as part of the transaction.

Construction Partners president and CEO Fred J. (Jule) Smith III said the acquired asphalt plant, workforce and construction capabilities will complement C.W. Roberts’ existing operations in the Panhandle.

Construction Partners is a vertically integrated civil infrastructure company operating in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

Its operations include hot-mix asphalt plants, aggregate facilities and liquid asphalt terminals. The company works primarily on publicly funded infrastructure projects, including local and state roads, interstate highways, airport runways and bridges.

It also performs private-sector paving and sitework for office and industrial parks, shopping centres, businesses and residential developments.
