Construction is moving forward on a new $24 million Tampa Fire Rescue station that will replace existing facilities and expand emergency response capacity in North Tampa.
The city held a groundbreaking this week for Fire Rescue Station No. 24 at 4902 E. Whiteway Drive in the Terrace Park neighbourhood. The 3.05-acre, city-owned site is south of the Greco Softball Complex and adjacent to Greco Park. The approximately 17,000-square-foot station will be a single-storey facility designed to support Tampa Fire Rescue operations, including fire suppression and Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical response.
The project also includes stormwater management improvements.
Tampa Fire Rescue is working with Architects Design Group as architect, HAA as local architect, Kokolakis as contractor and Colliers Project Leaders as the owner’s representative.
The project is currently in the design phase, with construction expected to follow. Completion is targeted for fall 2027.
The new station is intended to modernize Fire Rescue facilities in the area and support emergency services as North Tampa continues to develop.
